Great pizza. As someone from Detroit I've got 3 issues though. The sauce on Detroit style pizza ALWAYS goes under the cheese. A real Detroit place needs ranch for dipping. Finally, you gotta change your menu to say pop, not soda!

But still, great pizza, great service.

Edit: holy moly, I looked it up and classic Detroit pizza and the sauce goes on top. This is embarrassing. Still tho, ranch.

What is all the fuss about this place? I've had Detroit Pizza and this ain't it.

    1) The place is dirty ( I went at 5pm on a Tues)

    2) I get it it's a pizzeria, but customer service sucks

    3) I'm all about music and I don't care about curse words, but they can't even hear my order. I saw a woman leave because he was trying to shout the toppings over the music and she thought he was giving her an attitude. She walked out.

    4) Finally, the pizza sucks! The pepperoni weren't fully cooked, the sauce is blah and too much, the a la vodka slice was salty as hell.

You want Detroit style pizza? Go to Emily Squared (Pizza Loves Emily) instead. Better pizza and customer service.

If you looking for a quick slice in Chelsea, go to Artichokes on 17th Street. I really don't understand how they are affiliated with Artichoke pizza and whats the hype, I rather have Domino's. But hey the pictures of the slices look great.

I mean, how can you not love LTS?

First of all, RIP Nicoletta. You made some truly wonderful pizza and will be deeply missed. That said, the new* guys in town are here and let me tell you, the pizza is pretty darn good. All pies are served in half or full size and are what you'd expect from Detroit style pizza - square, crispy, and deep.

It's hard to go wrong with the 5$ classic pizza (why anyone wouldn't shell out the extra 2$ to upgrade from a half pie is beyond me - give the rest to someone on the street in need if you can't finish it). Prices do start to go up from there though, and you're looking at 11$ or so for a full pie of anything else. I will still contest they are worth the price though, as everyone I've tried is really quite good - the penny vodka, in particular, is worth trying. I also hear there is a chopped cheese that will knock your socks off..and probably stop your heart, but I'm guessing its worth it.

Come here to grab a tasty bite in a pretty awesome space, or to take a pie to your favorite local bar (what up Thirsty Scholar)

*OK OK, LTS has been on the west side for a while now, but this place is really big and exceptionally close to some of my favorite bars..let me have this win, you guys.

Since the time I've moved from Detroit to NYC, I have missed the Detroit style pizzas from buddy's and Jets (my favorite pizza joints in Detroit)!  So much so that I have had to make weekend trips to Detroit just to have these! I was hesitant on trying detroit style pizzas in NYC but visited @lionsandtigersandsquares to risk it anyway and I am so glad I did! The pizzas reminded me of the crispy crusts from buddy's and the sauces are just amazing! Just like good old Detroit! I guess I found my buddy's in NYC!
We got the Vodka slice, the sauce was really good! One slice includes 2 square slices and the classic slice (again awesome!) Must visit this place, these pizzas are insta worthy and definitively taste worthy!

square pizza is my jam. Detroit style is my jam.
i'm jamming to James Brown and funk.
the staff is nice and the vibes are quick- but- we- can- linger for a bit.
as opposed to the Flatiron location, the East Village post up is the glow up. larges tables and seating is available. I love looking at the square pans of pepperonnis & jalepenos. *drool*
